Introducing my Apple iMac

I arrived back from the city on Friday afternoon with a big, brown box.

After carefully removing the seals, I encountered another big box.

Low and behold, a wrapped iMac.

After relocating my desktop computer and cleaning the work desk, my iMac sits nicely.

Specifications:

  • 24″ LCD Display (1920×1200)
  • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz
  • 2GB DDR2 667
  • nVidia 7300GT
  • 250GB SATA 7200RPM HDD
  • Built-in bluetooth, wireless and webcam

I purchased the iMac with the intention of becoming my workstation. I place an emphasis on work. The display is amazing, it’s insanely huge and the colours are vibrant. I haven’t had any difficulty adjusting from my dual 17″ LCD displays, an issue that I was concerned about.

Ultimately, I’m more than pleased with my purchase. If you’re interested in additional pictures, you can take a look here.

Dude, that’s one sexy piece of sex right there.

    Congrats :D

…I place an emphasis on work.

    …and pr0n.

Nice piece of hardware dude. I’m thinking of getting a macbook or even a macbook pro for CNMA; no way around it. =\

No, just work Pascal. I have a 40″ LCD TV that I can use for porn.

Seriously, thanks for the comments guys. I know I don’t update all that often.

  4. Jessmukkah

    YEAH YOU DONT.

Sexeh as hell though. Don’t be surprised if it goes, y’know, missing or whatever.

  5. Ashley

Yeah, I’m thoroughly overcome with jeal. Jealous. Get it?

That hardware is pretty trendy. Was it a reasonable price?

  6. Tatey

I picked it up for just shy of $3000. The base configuration only included 1GB of RAM. I purchased an additional 2x 1GB of DDR2 SO-DIMM (Yes, it takes notebook RAM) from MSY to whack in to the Mac. Apple charges a fortune for “official” RAM. You’ll have to come see it next time you’re all over :)

I’ll tell you what though, it’s FAST! Previously I was using Adobe Photoshop CS2 in a Windows Virtual Machine on my Athlon XP 2500+. It would take forever to do anything, especially if I was handling larger images. This thing is like “Okay done, what’s next?”. ^_^

Hmm, thats purdy. I want one. Nice choice :)

I’d love one of them plus my PC.. the tinkering part of PCs is fun :D

    Thanks.

I still have my PC, and I am looking to purchase a new one around the corner. You know, I enjoy playing games and I’m looking forward to Team Fortress 2.

In reference to the tinkering part, you’re certainly right. Apple locks down their hardware.

Unfortunately for you that is the only thing macs are good for and yours appears to be too small to handle that much server load.
